Del Mar Electronics & Design Show - No horsing around!

It was a warm and sunny Thursday afternoon in Southern California as Team Vistana headed down to the Del Mar Fairgrounds in San Diego. No, we weren’t playing hooky and trying our luck at the racetracks. Instead, we were on our way to the annual Del Mar Electronics & Design Show to see what’s shaking with regional customers and suppliers.

The Del Mar Electronics & Design Show (DMEDS) is a low cost, high value design and manufacturing show for the Electronics, Medical and Biotech Industries. The show caters to the San Diego, Southern Orange and Imperial counties. It provides a great opporunity for local folks in the industry to preview what's going on in their own backyards.

After circling the parking lot a couple times (apparently our navigation doesn't provide directions around orange cones) we found our way to the giant awning welcoming us to the show. Armed with an arsenal of Vistana line cards and business cards, we set out in search of Printed Electronics products and manufacturers.

What we thought would be a search for a needle in a haystack turned out to be a treasure chest of opportunity. We found printed electronics in all corners of the show, from LCD screens to touch membrane manufacturers. What's even more interesting is many of the booths we visited didn't realize they had printed electronics under their own roof! That makes our mission to spread the word about printed electronics even more important. Nothing makes us happier than helping customers maximize their own opportunities with our products.

We also visited with some current customers and suppliers such as Saint Gobain, which allowed us to thank them for all their support. There may not have been any horses or jockeys out that day, but we still managed to hit the trifecta!
